Out of all the cities in California, Los Angeles is one of the most unequal. Median incomes between the different districts paints a vastly unequally picture as many of the districts far outstrip other districts, often the ones in it's immediate surroundings.
And not only in income, but in life expectancies and educational achievement as well. A recent study has found that in overall, the highest areas such as Redondo Beach, Manhattan beach, Bel-Air have four times that of the lowest districts in South/Central L.A. and Watts. This NetArt piece was made for the intent of using art to convey a message. A message that is often heard but overlooked or not understood. Hopefully, by observing more, it will inspire a little more change in you and in this city.
